I love taking my clients to new locations, this engagement session was no different.  We went to this little area in Logan called ‘the island’.  This little patch of flowers is really easy to drive by and never notice the beauty in the miss of a crazy intersection.  Have no fear, often the little run down areas are the best!  Congratulations Kurt & Suzanne on your recent engagement!  I look forward to your Idaho wedding later this summer!

One of my favorite things to experience while I was in Southern California for engagements was The Getty Museum.   I highly recommend it to anyone!  We took a beautiful drive along the coast to get to Malibu.  The architecture and contents inside were absolutely breathtaking.  Exhibits at the Getty are always rotating.  The exhibit I saw was Aphrodite and the Gods of Love.  The exhibit was full of beautiful hand carved statues, frescoes, pottery and mosaics from the same era.  It is amazing to see what people did out of stone!  This fueled my desire to take a pottery class.PINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEI stopped to watch this little boy sketch one of the nearby statues.  He was ‘modernizing’ the statue because he felt it needed a hat.  I loved listening to his story of how he became interested in art.  His dream is to visit The Louvre, in Paris. (mine too!) He told me when he went he’d take me with him 🙂PINIMAGEProof that Leonard Nemoy, a.k.a. Spock, a.k.a. William Bell, has been around f-o-r-e-v-e-r!PINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGE

Last month I had the opportunity to travel to Southern California for engagements with Jenni and Apostolos.  It was a blast to travel to different location and be on the beach.  The day I left Utah it snowed several inches, I was ecstatic to be basking in the California sun.  We left Apostolos’ bungle house to head for the beautiful beach in San Clemente. Destination engagements in CaliforniaPINIMAGEengaged couple on the California beachPINIMAGEengaged couple walking on the California beachPINIMAGEphoto of engaged couple on the rocksPINIMAGEengaged couple photosPINIMAGEcouple walking california beachPINIMAGEengaged mulit racial couplePINIMAGEengagement photosPINIMAGEengaged couplePINIMAGEengaged couple laughing during photosPINIMAGE

It seems very fitting that on this last day of school I blog Dustin’s senior portraits.  It was really fun to go back to my alma mater, Logan High School, and see how the place is really different from ten years ago when I graduated.  I was a few minutes early and took the time to walk around.  I found the locker I had my freshman year and took one quick snapshot for posterity.PINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGEPINIMAGE

Congrats on your graduation Dustin!

This weekend was great but it was a serious whirlwind!  We went to Salt Lake Friday night and spent the night at my dad’s house. We went down early so we could go to the Annual Daybreak Garage Sale.  I seriously love garage sales.  It really breaks out the DIY side of me!  I love DIY crafts and projects!  We left extra early to make sure we could get to daybreak 20 minutes before the garage sale started because I really wanted to visit my favorite Utah craft blogger, Shelly Smith.  Due to a flat tire we got on the freeway we were there 20 minutes after it started and literally everything was almost gone.flat tirePINIMAGEAfter visiting the garage sale we went to watch our nephews play t-ball and baseball.  I have never laughed as hard as I did watching the 4-5 year olds play t-ball.  One girl refused to wear her helmet, one kid’s finger was glued to the inside of his nose, one boy who was a die hard baseball player.  Nothing beats this adorable little guy who did summersaults nearly the entire way from third base to home plate!  The next time he went up to bat he wouldn’t run the bases and said he would do it if he could race against me.  Seriously being an aunt is great!tballPINIMAGETo end the weekend, I purchased a new computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  My little 15″ macbook pro laptop just wasn’t going to cut it anymore.  I am seriously in love with my new 27″ iMac, it’s a beauty!  Photos to come soon when my new photography office is a little bit more organized.

I hope your weekend was wonderful too!
